The Info Is In The Bag

It's In The Bag

Posted November 14, 2015

Bag styles come and bag styles go. What was popular last year may be passé or actually banned this year.

Starting a new business can be a daunting task, from picking a name and location to certificates and licenses, a lot of work and research goes into your final project - your “store”.

You are all set up and ready to open shop. Customers are going to buy your product, and now it's time to think about branding your image and how you are going to deliver your product to your customers. Packaging choices have to be made whether you are selling stationary or delivering mail order.  There are so many choices, options, materials, and pricing available on the Internet today, it’s hard to know where to begin.

Your first thought is to keep it as inexpensive as possible, but is that always the right answer? Your packaging should be affordable and fitting to the design of your product. You wouldn't want to use a card store merchandise bag to sell a $5000.00 Rolex, nor would you want a high-end Euro Tote to sell items in a dollar store.

Your choice of packaging should reflect your image and product. You want your customers to walk away feeling confident with their purchase, and, by branding your image, it will give your customers a feeling of security - it will reflect a stable image and subconsciously let them know you are not a fly-by-night business.

The next thing to consider is your supplier. You want to ensure the best quality product at the most affordable price. You should be able to design and work with the company comfortably and know the product choice and the supplier you choose will be there when you have questions or are ready to reorder. You want a team of experts who will go to bat for you and give you peace-of-mind!

A lot of times we speak to customers who know what type of bag they have decided to use for their business but are not sure of the name of the bag, general pricing or the correct verbiage to describe what they have in mind.

Over the next couple of months we will showcase the different bag options and manufacturing options available for each type of bag. We will also discuss the pros and cons of each bag material and the available options for customizing your choice. The next few blogs will hi-light paper bag styles.
